PVG, disclosure and police checks

All roles at TAC require a basic police record or disclosure check.

Any role that involves direct contact with an individual deemed vulnerable under PVG will require a PVG check.

Acceptable ID documents for Disclosure Scotland checks

Disclosure Scotland checks requires the applicant to prove their identity from documents which confirm between them, the name, date of birth and current home address of the applicant. One of the documents must be photographic.

  • Birth Certificate
  • Passport
  • Driving Licence (with photograph)
  • Driving licence (without photograph)
  • National ID Card
  • National Entitlement Card
  • Proof of address e.g a utility bill, bank statement or rental/mortgage statement

 

Complete list of Acceptable ID

Acceptable forms of identity are as follows, you'll need to provide the original of one of the following, which includes your date of birth:

  • Current passport
  • Current driving licence (full or provisional) - photocard only
  • Biometric residence permit
  • National identity card from a country outside the European Economic Area
  • Birth certificate
  • Adoption certificate
  • Marriage certificate or civil partnership certificate
  • NHS card
  • UK armed forces identify card
  • UK firearm or shotgun certificate

You'll also need to provide the original one of the following which includes your current address:

  • Council tax bill or letter
  • *Utility bill, such as gas, electric or phone bill (not mobile)
  • *Bank or credit card statement
  • Driving licence photocard (full or provisional)
  • Mortgage statement
  • Tenancy agreement (typed, not handwritten)
  • Insurance policy document or letter
  • Payslip or P60
  • UK Hospital or doctor's letter
  • UK TV Licence
  • University, college or school letter
  • UK Electoral Register Office letter or UK polling card
  • Home Office letter
  • UK firearm or shotgun certificate
  • UK solicitor's letter on headed paper
